The Blending of Somatics and Deep Ecology

Ecosomatic  transformation is an approach that includes a somatic process of  embodied change with the principles of deep ecology to produce  satisfaction and fulfillment in individuals, couples, families,  communities and organizations. Ecosomatics connects deeply to the  essence of values, morals, ethics and standards to the extent that those  values can be lived and embodied. This means that the actions, habits,  and practices of individuals and organizations as a whole are aligned,  lived, and expressed by how individuals relate and care for each other  and how important decisions are made.

Duration varies • Range from $50.00 to 90.00

Viseral Manipultion, or VM is a gentle manual therapy  that aids your body”s ability to release restictions and unhealthy  compensations that cause pain and dysfunction. VM does not focus solely  on the site of pain or dysfunction, but evaluates the entire body to the  find the source of the problem. The VM therapist feels for the altered  or decreased motion within the viscera, as well as restrictive patterns  throughout the body and then applies VM techniques. VM therapy  re-establishes the bodies ability to adapt and restoreitself to optimal  health.

Visceral Manipulation Benefits:

Cranial Sacral therapy  is a gentle, noninvasive form of bodywork that addresses the bones of  the head, spinal column and sacrum. This light touch is said to affect  the pressure and circulation of cerebrospinal fluid, which is the fluid  around the brain and spinal cord. This process is thought to relieve  pain and dysfunction.

CST has been used to treat a variety of conditions, both physical and psychological:

  • Alzheimer’s disease
  • autism
  • back pain
  • brain injury
  • central nervous system disorders
  • chronic fatigue
  • colic

CranioSacral Therapy for Horses, Dogs or other pets

CranioSacral Therapy works as well on horses, dogs or other animals as it does on humans, and usually very visibly so.

Often  the best course of action is to do one or more sessions on the human  first, as this gives him or her the understanding of what is happening  in the animal during and between sessions and to understand the changes  it is bringing about. It also gives the animal the chance to have less  or no impact from its human’s issues before CranioSacral work is  commenced with the animal.

Common cranial symptoms with canines

  • Chronic ear and sinus infections
  • Droopy eyes
  • Excessive yawning
  • Equilibrium problems
  • Generally not feeling well
  • Headaches and head tilts
  • Lack of energy
  • Seizures

Equine CranioSacral Therapy

Many  of today’s horses would benefit from receiving CranioSacral Therapy to  maintain the health and balance of their bodies as well as for  rehabilitation or correcting abnormal movement.

They  are on a daily basis subjected to various forms of stress, especially  from the perspective of the way a horse would live naturally. Horses are  much more affected by the different types of equipment used on them,  such as saddles, bridles, bits, halters, blankets etc, and how we use  them, like riding, show jumping, racing, driving, competitions, breeding  etc, than we think.

The  added impact of more or less accomplished riders and their imbalances  makes matters worse. Other things that affect them greatly are farriery,  dentistry, stable conditions and how they spend the greater part of  their time. They also get injuries in paddocks and on slippery surfaces  and tracks.

CranioSacral  Therapy may efficiently be used on horses for maintenance of optimal  body functioning, for rehabilitation after injury (old and new) and to  address many different kinds of problems or conditions such as neck and  back problems, rotated pelvis, hind quarter problems, lameness, jaw  joint problems, tinnitus, facial nerve paralysis, head shaker syndrome,  certain allergies, blocked tear ducts, castration issues, difficulties  with certain movements during riding, behaviour and emotional problems,  to mention a few.

The term biofield refers to our body’s electrical system in its entirety - both the  electric current that runs through our bodies, and the magnetic field  that surrounds it.

Biofield  Tuning is a sound therapy method that works directly with this system,  seeing it as inextricably connected with our conscious and subconscious  mind, including our memories.

All   physical, mental and emotional disorders can be perceived as   "dissonance" in our electrical system. Biofield Tuning is able to   locate, diminish and resolve this dissonance and in doing so, alleviate and even eradicate the corresponding physical, mental and/or emotional symptoms.

How it works

During   a Biofield Tuning session, a client lies fully clothed on a treatment   table while the practitioner activates a tuning fork and scans the   biofield slowly, beginning from about six feet away.

The practitioner is:

  • feeling for resistance and turbulence in the client's biofield

  • listening for a change in the overtones and undertones of the tuning fork

When   the practitioner encounters a turbulent area he/she continues to   activate the tuning fork and hold it in that specific spot. Research   suggests the body's organizing intelligence uses the steady coherent   vibrational frequency of the tuning fork to "tune" itself.

In   short order, the dissonance resolves and the sense of resistance gives   way. This appears to correspond to the release of tension with the  body.  People relax and breathe more freely and the body enters into an   increased flow state.

Myo- means muscle and fascia is the sticky web  of connective tissues that weaves throughout muscles, binding them  tightly together. Essentially, fascia gives the muscles the structure  and support to move and stabilize us.

When  you hear these two words together; myofascial, it’s used to describe  the unity and interconnectedness of these two systems.  Myofascial  release The therapist uses manual techniques (hands/instruments) with  the specific intention of manipulating or changing muscles and fascia.  Either to reduce pain or to improve the function or movement of the  body.

Function  release fascial restrictions rejuvenation- Transverse friction massage  increases healthy collagen.   Pain relief:  Improved circulation.  Trigger points are taught bands of muscle that respond to the deep  pressures provided by myofascial release.

Nervous  system reflexes: Position sensor receptors (proprioceptors) are in  muscles and especially fascia. They tell the body where we are in space.  Mechanical force/pressure stimulates those receptors providing a pain  relieving effect and may enhance body positioning and coordination.

What  is the difference between myofascial release and a massage?  Myofascial  release is a type of massage. However, there are other forms of massage  that are not myofascial release. For example a lymphatic massage.

So  myofascial release is a more general term, whereas myofascial release  is specific with the intention of influencing muscles or fascia.
